My name is Carmen, and I am a self-taught digital artist based out of Central Florida who spends a lot of time on my Ipad drawing anime art!

To tell you a little bit about myself, I am a proud mix of Puerto Rican and Cuban, although fun fact: I don’t speak a lick of Spanish! I can understand a little bit of it, but I will always either respond back to you in English, or just look at you very confused!

Aside from being an artist, I am also a licensed esthetician and I am currently in college studying business. My favorite type of music is indie, lo-fi, and vaporwave! My hobbies include reading thrillers and romances, writing my own short stories, and visiting local coffee shops because I am a HUGE coffee lover!

I’ve always considered myself to be a creative person. From a young age, I was fascinated with art. To me, creating things felt like a calling I just couldn’t ignore. I’m constantly coming up with different original character designs with their own backstories that are probably lengthy enough to fill their own novels, (or a nice short story at least!) I am also heavily interested in drawing fashion as well and most would even say that I am incredibly detail-oriented as I often screenshot outfits I see online and zoom in very closely so that I can draw every detail to its accurate depiction.

If I were to describe my style, I would say it is a blend of retro anime, Korean manhwa, and American pin-up art. I draw heavy inspiration from the vaporwave aesthetic, and often reference 80’s and 90’s pop culture to add fresh and creative ideas into my art! I worked extremely hard from childhood to present day to get my style to where It is now, so I am very proud of how I’ve refined my skill over the years.

I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone that has supported me from the very beginning and I would also like to welcome anyone new as well! I hope that through my art I can bring happiness to others and invoke feelings of nostalgia in everyone! ♡
